Innovative eco-friendly technologies to boost-up date palm production

In the year 1987 the Red Palm Weevil was discovered attacking palms in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Being able to breed in a wide range of climates it has spread fast in many areas of the Middle East. It is now widely found not only in South Asia, but also in Melanesia, North Africa and even Southern Europe. In these regions the Red Palm Weevil is a known problem for the damage it causes to coconut, sago, date, and oil palms.
